How you can help The Christmas Box House
We’re feeling nothing but gratitude this time of year for our incredible employees, clients, brand reps, and friends. Thank you all for your support, inspiration, and friendship!
It certainly is the most wonderful time of year, and not just to celebrate the holidays with loved ones, hot coco, and Christmas festivities, but also to give a little extra love to those who need it most.
Our hearts have been touched this season by our wonderful brand rep Shia. An inspiring and uplifting individual, Shia uses her touching personal experiences to help the lives of underprivileged children in Utah. We are so proud of Shia and are grateful to support her efforts this season by partnering with The Christmas Box house.
Watch below to hear Shia's story and learn more about what we've been working on.
What exactly is the Christmas Box House?
The Christmas Box House is a temporary home for children ages 0-11 who are in state custody due to alleged abuse or neglect. These emergency children’s shelters can be found in Salt Lake City, Utah County, Ogden, and Moab. Homeless children in Utah, like Shia, are taken to The Christmas Box and are given a stuffed animal, a clean, new set of clothing (which is what we are collecting donations for), and meals and a warm bed for the duration of their stay. Recreational activities as well as medical and dental care are also provided. These services are consistently arranged until a safe, permanent home can be found for these children through foster care.
What donations are needed?
New or like-new, gently used clothing may be donated. Shirts, pants, jackets, coats, and shoes are all in high demand at the Christmas Box House. Clothing may be donated in any size, ranging from small children’s clothing to adult-sized clothing. Clothing for babies, little boys and girls, teens, and adult men and women can all be collected and utilized, as all high-quality sizes and styles are needed.
When, Where, and How do I Donate?
Donations will be taken at the Ypsilon Dresses store starting now until December 20th. Stop by during store hours, which are 2pm-7pm Monday through Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturdays. Bring clothing in black plastic drawstring bags in ready condition for arrival to The Christmas Box house.
The Christmas Box House motto simply states, “Every child deserves a childhood.” Through these collected donations, we hope to aid their purpose in preventing childhood abuse and neglect, as well as improve the quality of life for children, teens, and young adults in Utah.
