We have a very special story featured on our beauty blog today: the story of how two Sherri Hill dresses helped one of our amazing Ypsilon staff members create her dream wedding gown. Read below all about Aimee 's journey to say "Yes!" to her dress!
The Back Story:
Hey! I'm Aimee! I started working with Ypsilon a year and a half ago, and it all has been such a wonderful and amazing experience. Every single day I got to work with different clients whether it be for prom or pageants. I loved helping put a smile on each of the girl’s faces when they found the dress they were looking for, and working here helped me develop great communication skills and make life-long friends!
Every Ypsilon girls knows Sherri Hill is amazing. Where do I even begin with this designer?! I admire her so much because of her will to be different! Because of my work with Ypsilon, I’ve been able to really get familiar with her work. I’ve noticed she will do whatever it takes to include different body types and unique looks. She has created timeless pieces that have been created over the past few seasons that girls love and adore. The iconic “Sherri Hill girl” saying will forever live on in the prom and pageant world. And yes, my wedding dress is Sherri Hill!
I was working one day and I saw this new arrival being tried on by a client. I loved it on her, and thought to myself, "This would be a beautiful and truly unique wedding dress!" I tried on the same dress that day just in a different size, and I fell completely in love with it! Right when I tried it on I knew this was the dress for me! It was the only dress I tried on for wedding dress shopping (can you believe it?!) but I was totally fine with! You don’t need to try on a million dresses to know which one is the dress for you. I had a strong feeling, and I went for it! And choosing this dress has truly been one of my best decisions I have ever made.
The Alterations Process:
Alterations were a tad bit crazy with my dress. I had to buy not one but TWO of the dress to make the alterations happen. I needed to add sleeves and I wanted a veil that would match my dress perfectly. I had an astoundingly talented seamstress that was able to make the sleeves work for me and I am truly happy with them. We also took the second detachable skirt and my mother made it into a veil for me to wear. It all came together and I am so happy with all the many people who turned it into my dream dress, including the Ypsilon staff.
I had the managers help me order, get the matching Sherri Hill jewelry, and all of the dress specialists were there helping me try it on and make decisions. I can’t thank them enough! They truly make you feel like a queen when you are there.

The Final Look:
Sparkle, timeless, and unique! In my dress, of course there is that little bit of sparkle all over and I’m obsessed! It is also timeless because of the lace and the fit of the dress. It is truly unique because no one else has this exact look, plus who doesn’t love a detachable skirt! I have a two in one dress and I think that’s pretty amazing!

I am so excited to get married to the man of my dreams! We are thrilled to be getting married this month and start our lives together! Picking out the right dress for me was a challenge because I didn’t want something that ten other girls had. Being involved in pageants I knew what it was like to want a truly unique dress, and at Ypsilon I found it! Who would have known it would have been a prom/pageant dress?! It’s the dress of my dreams, and it will help make my wedding feel like a fairy tale!
Thank you Ypsilon Dresses!
With love, Aimee Rose
